“Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old-time journey...delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas, and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."

Our Latest Adventure in Surgery...

I think we Masseys are becoming quite the professional patients! As some of you may already know, Myles had another surgery this week. This was by far the least serious of his surgical exploits. Quite frankly, this was hardly a blip on my radar! He finally had his circumcision done, as well as had a urinary tract blockage removed. Things went very well and he sailed through surgery. He's now home recouperating (and walking a little strangely :)). For my friends who only have little girls, just wait. What an experience you have to look forward to! Thanks for the prayers and well wishes! Keep 'em coming! xoxoxo

Visiting the Treehouse Museum

Little Dr. Massey made his first visit to the Treehouse Children's Museum in Ogden today. We were worried he might still be a bit too young to really enjoy himself, be he proved us wrong. He had an absolute blast (although, I think we probably had even more fun than he did just from watching him discover everything!). If you haven't been, it's wonderful! There are two floors full of art, science, music, history, culture, literature...you name it. Myles especially enjoyed his time in the "Hospital" area. He got to be the DOCTOR this time, instead of the patient! He wore a little white lab coat and carried around a plastic stethoscope and "listened" to everything -- including the countertops.

WHEEEEEEEEEE!!

Myles (with Daddy's help) discovers the joys of the slide. He could not get enough!!

Painting Skills...

For the last several days, I have painted and painted, and PAINTED, until I can paint no more. The result is (in my mind) VERY cute! The house, up until now, has had all white walls. There is nothing wrong with all white walls, except that I get bored easily. Natasha, some of this is CLEARLY your fault. :) Here are some pictures of the front rooms of the house, which are now 2 shades of golden-tan (one lighter than the other). My muscles are sore, but I am happy.

"I'm not dead yet... I feel happy!!"

Okay. I realize that I'm about the worst blogger in the history of blogging. I have a great big bundle of VERY GOOD excuses, however. I will not go into detail in this posting -- email or call me if you want details and do not have them yet. Suffice it to say that the Massey family has had it's share of tragedy in the last 5 months. We're all still alive. Ty and I are still married and are currently living under the same roof. Enough said.

To update on everything else in life (has there been anything else in life???), we're still living in Farmington and LOVING it! It is such a great little community to live in . I absolutely love waking up to the mountains and trees.

Myles is walking (actually running!) and is in to EVERYTHING!! He turned 1 back in October and we had a fabulous 1st birthday party with lots of family and friends...and Sesame Street characters. He loved it! He talks so much! I must boast his 32 word vocabulary. :) He's in to everything and is all boy all the time. Cuter than ever! He's been healthy since New Years and keeps his mama on her toes! He had his first trial Nursery day this last Sunday. He surprised us by doing really well. He's quite the little social butterfly!

Ty has once again been transferred back into the Murray office for work. This means a 1 1/2 hour commute home in the evenings. Not fun, but definitely the way to get promotions. I've been teaching voice and piano lessons from home still and plan on reopening a preschool this fall.

That's the VERY Reader's Digest version of an update... I'll try to be better about keeping up on this thing. Just wanted you to know (for anyone who's not given up on my existance) that I'm still around. :) Enjoy a few cute pictures.

Good News!

Well, there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel. The house in Layton has gone under contract!!! We should be closing by the end of this month. No more double mortgages! Ty has been working a second job for the last month and Myles and I have been on our own a lot. It will be sooooo nice to have things settle down a bit financially. That's all I wanted to say. Now, everyone can just ogle at my cute child.
